Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Afrika Bite (7 KG 674 St, Kimihurura, Kigali, Rwanda) handles information for people who visit this website. It does not cover your visit to the restaurant itself, or conversations you have with us over WhatsApp or by phone — those aren't collected or stored by this website.
What this website actually collects
Short answer: almost nothing. This site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter, and doesn't run any analytics or advertising trackers of its own. The only things it does are described below.
Hosting & technical logs
This site is hosted on Vercel. Like almost every website host, Vercel's infrastructure incidentally processes standard technical information (such as IP address and browser type) as part of serving pages and keeping the site secure — this happens automatically at the hosting level, not something Afrika Bite separately collects or has access to. Google Maps
The Visit section includes an embedded Google Map so you can find us. Google Maps is loaded only if you choose to open it — until then, no data is sent to Google from that part of the page. Once loaded, Google may set its own cookies and collect data per Google's privacy policy, which is outside our control. If you'd rather avoid that entirely, use the "Get directions" link instead, which just opens Google Maps directly.
WhatsApp & phone links
The "Reserve via WhatsApp" and "Call" buttons hand you off to WhatsApp or your phone's dialer — we don't see or store anything about that handoff. Once you're in WhatsApp, your conversation with us is subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy, not this one.
Governing law
Afrika Biteoperates in Rwanda, and this site is operated in line with Rwanda's Law N° 058/2021 relating to the Protection of Personal Data and Privacy. Because a website can be visited from anywhere, we've also written this policy to be clear and honest by the standards of stricter frameworks like the EU's GDPR, even though our data footprint here is minimal.
Your rights & questions
Because this site doesn't collect personal data through forms or accounts, there's generally nothing on file to request, correct, or delete. If you have any question about this policy or how the site works, reach us via WhatsApp or at +250 788 503 888.
Changes to this policy
If how this site works changes — for example, if we ever add online ordering — this page will be updated to reflect that, and the "Last updated" date at the top will change.
